Privacy Policy
This Policy explains how MarkMyPoint collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website feedback and review service.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to markmypoint.com, app.markmypoint.com, and related MarkMyPoint services. Contact: hello@markmypoint.com.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), organization and role information
- Customer content — projects, MarkUps, pins, comments, screenshots, and uploaded files (websites under review, PDFs, images, video)
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate timestamps needed to operate and secure the Service
- Billing data — when you purchase a paid plan, payment details are processed by Stripe; we typically receive limited billing metadata (e.g. plan, status), not full card numbers
- Communications — messages you send to support
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate users, manage organizations, and enforce plan limits
- Process payments and send transactional emails (invites, security notices)
- Detect abuse, debug issues, and protect the Service
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Pins, feedback, and customer content
Pins, comments, and related review data are stored so your team and invited collaborators can use them. Access follows the sharing and membership settings you configure. Organization admins may manage or delete projects and related content according to product controls.
You are responsible for obtaining any consents needed before capturing or sharing third-party websites or personal data of others in Customer Content.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, session security, and core product functionality. We may also use limited analytics or preference cookies where helpful to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent login or core features from working.
6. Third-party services
We use trusted processors to run MarkMyPoint, which may include:
- Hosting and infrastructure — servers and storage for the application and files
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans (when billing is enabled)
- Google — optional Sign in with Google authentication
- Email delivery — transactional messages such as invites and password resets
These providers process data only as needed to perform their services for us, under appropriate contractual protections where required.
7. Sharing
We share information only:
- With teammates and guests you invite to projects or organizations
- With processors who help us operate the Service (as above)
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the Service
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate notice
8. Retention
We retain account and Customer Content while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You (or your organization admin) may delete projects or request account deletion; residual copies may remain in backups for a limited time.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and protect invite links.
10. International transfers
MarkMyPoint may be hosted or accessed from locations outside your country. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps appropriate to the laws applicable to the service provider to protect that data.
11. Your choices
You may update profile information in the app, manage organization membership, and request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by emailing hello@markmypoint.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws; we will respond to valid requests as required.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy periodically. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice when appropriate.
